Bileag: Gàidhlig ann an Dùn Èideann | Leaflet: Gaelic in Edinburgh

Fàilte air ais, a charaidean, agus Bliadhna Mhath Ùr dhuibh! Tha sinn a’ tòiseachadh na bliadhna seo le cuireadh airson pàirt a ghabhail ann an iomairt feumail ùr airson baile Dhùn Èideann.

Welcome back, everyone and Happy New Year! We’re kicking the year off with an invitation to take part in an exciting initiative for Gaelic in Edinburgh.

Tha mi toilichte innse dhuibh gu bheil Oilthigh Dhùn Èideann, le taic bho Bhòrd na Gàidhlig, ag ullachadh bileag mun Ghàidhlig ann an Dùn Èideann.  Bidh a’ mhòr-chuid den bhileag ag innse beagan mu na buidhnean, tachartasan agus seirbheisean Gàidhlig ann an Dùn Èideann, le beagan fiosrachaidh mu eachdraidh na Gàidhlig ann an Dùn Èideann,.  Bidh a’ bhileag seo ag amas air daoine aig a bheil Gàidhlig no a tha ga h-ionnsachadh, a’ toirt fios thugaibh air ciamar a b’ urrainn dhaibh a bhith an sàs anns na tha a’ tachairt sa bhaile. Togaidh a’ bhileag inbhe na Gàidhlig sa bhaile, cuideachd.

I am pleased to let you know that the University of Edinburgh, with support from Bòrd na Gàidhlig, is developing a Gaelic in Edinburgh leaflet. The majority of the leaflet will consist of information about Gaelic organisations, events and services in Edinburgh, with some information about the history of Gaelic in Edinburgh. The leaflet aims to reach those who speak or are learning Gaelic, providing information about how they can be involved with and make use of Gaelic in the city. The leaflet will also raise awareness of Gaelic in the city.

Bu toil leinn cuireadh a thoirt dhuibh fiosrachadh a sgaoileadh mun bhuidheann/tachartas/seirbheis agaibh fhèin sa bhileag.  On a tha sinn ag iarraidh gum bi a’ bhileag seo ceart airson ùine cho fada ’s a tha comasach, cha bhi sinn a’ cur fiosrachaidh mionaideach sa bhileag (àiteachan, àmannan, msaa) a bhios gan atharrachadh gu tric.

We are pleased to invite you to participate in this project by submitting information about your own group/activity/services. Since we would like this leaflet to remain current for as long as possible, we will refrain from printing detailed information, such as times and locations, that might change frequently.

Airson pàirt a ghabhail, lìonaibh am foirm seo ann an Gàidhlig, Beurla, no gu dà-chànanach. Dh’fhaodadh gun atharraich sinn am fiosrachadh beagan airson cunbhalachd a chumail tron bhileag gu lèir. Bidh sinn a’ gabhail fiosrachaidh gus 10mh den Ghearran

To participate, please fill in this form in Gaelic, English or bilingually. Submissions may be minimally edited for consistency. We will be accepting submissions until Friday 10th February.

Bidh sinn a’ feuchainn ris a’ bhileag a sgaoileadh fad is farsaing. Nach leig sibh fios thugainn ma bhios sibh deònach a’ bhileag a sgaoileadh le tomhas air cò mheud a dh’iarradh sibh.

We will be distributing this leaflet as widely as possible. Please let us know if your group or organisation would be willing to help distribute the leaflet once printed and an estimate of how many copies you would like.

Bhiomaid fada nur comain ma ghabhas sibh pàirt ann. Mar as motha an àireamh de bhuidhnean a ghabhas pàirt ann, ’s ann as èifeachdach a bhios a’ bhileag.  Ma tha ceistean sam bith agaibh, chan fheum sibh ach fios a chur gu Bria Mason aig bria.mason(aig)ed.ac.uk.

We will be very grateful to all those who submit information – the more comprehensive the leaflet is, the more it will benefit all of us. If you have any questions about the project, please contact Bria Mason at bria.mason(at)ed.ac.uk.
